A few days ago, an important holiday was celebrated for one of my favorite video game franchises. As such, I had to jump on the trend to make a commemorative drawing of myself for the occasion.

After finishing this, I'm hoping that this is the start I need to start experimenting with the Mario Promo art style pioneered by Kotabe and Nakue as I have a few ideas for what I want to do with that visual styling in relation to the Mario series. I've done tons of visual research from official scans to even fanart for ideas and while it will take time, I hope that I can realize these ideas to some degree.

By the way, you know my online avatar's default design? Well, I haven't mentioned this before, but I adopted subtle design cues from Mario himself. For one, we both wear red tops and blue bottoms, but also, when I draw my hair, I always try to give it 6 bumps to match the amount of bumps on Mario's mustache.

Here's two images of me and Mario for you to compare
