Hello, It's been a while since I've been actively posting here after I've had to make the move to University living for the Fall. But I'm back now, and I hope to continue being active for the foreseeable future.
To start off, I'm sure some of you are wondering how my first semester in Cal State East Bay turned out. All in all it was pretty good. My first experiences in university life had an uncertainty to it at first, but as I got more used to my surroundings, and got more and more acquainted with my surroundings and my dormmates, I began to make a fairly big presence throughout the campus . During the course of the semester, I attended various campus events such as a Halloween Party, and more recently a late night Holiday Breakfast. I signed up for a videogame club that's led by one of the Game Design Professors. My first set of classes that I took were two GE classes to fill out that requirement early on, but I did also take a class on the essentials of Music Tech where I learned some of how to use Ableton. While I think I'll stick to FL Studio for my music work, I won't deny I have learned some things about sound deign and composition from that class that I didn't know about before. Once I knock out my last GE, I think I can take some more music classes as electives along with my Major classes.
Speaking of, in the up and coming Spring semester I'll begin to take art classes. I'm starting out with a Fundamentals of Drawing Class, a 2D processes class, and a Photography class. I believe I can still do work here at Game Gen since the stuff I'll be doing in classes like those can also be relevant to what I do here. Right now, I'm doing some digging on potential internships for the summer. I'm searching Gamedevmap, Hitmarker, Linkedin, and even Indeed for potential opportunities. So far, I haven't gotten any responses for interviews, but I won't stop trying to put myself out there.
I've also starting to use new software such as Krita and GIMP to prepare and refine my drawing. I'm just starting thought and it'll take awhile to navigate and master both of these systems for my art, but I will take as much time as I need to make it work. I'll also need to get a good drawing tablet and I think I'll be in a good position.
With all that said, It's good to be back and I hope that moving forward I will get to realize a lot of my concepts into fruition. Wish me luck!
